hey bloggers, hope you’re enjoying your monday… you know what they say about “all work and no play…”, well sometimes mixing business with pleasure is a good thing and this past weekend was for sure. we took a quick trip to hawaii this past weekend (yes only 3 days including travel days to the island is insane), but we managed to have fun and get some work done too. the weather this time of year was perfect with highs in the 80’s and lows in the 70’s at night – unlike the low 30’s we came home to yesterday. we met up with our friend joy who i’ve known for over 12 years from my ben franklin craft days, in fact she still works for the ben franklin/ace hardware stores in hawaii and has her own craft t.v. show there “the joy of crafting“. it was great to visit some of the ben franklin stores with her too and see what products they had, what is trending in hawaii, etc. it’s always cool to see the various crafts in different parts of the world…
we spent a couple of days with joy and had a great time sightseeing as well with a visit to the local “honolulu city lights” christmas display one night where there were these huge illuminated figures, lighted tress, and local festivities surrounding city hall, it was so fun to see…
another great surprise that happened… while we were downtown seeing the lights, we passed the theater and saw that wicked was playing there – seriously what are the chances of that? since joy never saw wicked (and we were catching the redeye home the following night) we surprised her with last minute tickets for the matinee and went to see it before heading to the airport. that makes mario’s 4th and my 5th time seeing it and can’t wait to see it again…
today we’re back in the studio working on cha deadlines, projects, and filming a video to share with you tomorrow right here on the blog – see you then…t!m
