The Ranger Great Pumpkin Challenge! Day 4: The Finale!
Recently, we sent some plain ol' craft pumpkins to some of our favorite designers and asked them to create fabulous fall centerpieces out of them using Ranger products. We've been revealing the beautiful results over the past few days, and today is the grand finalé!
This is what the pumpkins looked like before:
This is what my pumpkin looks like now:
the supplies used are: ranger's metal foil tape sheets (you'll need 2 packs), adirondack alcohol inks (any colors), jet black archival ink, regal flourish texture fade, mini tattered leaves die, baubles, adornments, swivel clasp, word key, grungeboard, prima twig, paint brush, and of course a plastic pumpkin…
the steps are simple:
1. emboss the individual metal foil tape sheets in the flourish texture fade.
2. remove the paper backing and adhere to the pumpkin slightly overlapping pieces. (since the foil tape is so flexible you can form each sheet to the pumpkin including getting into the recessed areas simply by using your fingers.)
3. once the pumpkin is completely covered, drip your favorite colors of alcohol inks on to the foil tape and spread out the inks using a paint brush. let dry.
4. once the inks are dry which literally takes minutes, rub the jet black archival pad over the raised texture of the foil tape to help the design stand out more.
5. for leaves, place one sheet of metal foil tape on to grungeboard and die cut from mini tattered leaves die.
6. ink the leaves and assorted baubles with alcohol inks using same technique as above.
7. adhere twig, leaves, baubles, adornments, etc. to top of pumpkin with hot glue gun.
8. attach word key to swivel clasp and hook end of chain through twig allowing key to dangle.
