2016 halloween inspiration series… project by: richele christensen

  • inks: Distress Ink/Black Soot; Alcohol Ink/Mushroom
  • crayons: Distress Crayons/Black Soot/Picket Fence/Spiced Marmalade
  • paints: Distress Paint/Black Soot
  • surfaces: Kraft-Core Cardstock/Mini Paper Stash/Materialize
  • embellishments: Adornments/Wicked; Boneyard; Crypt Cameos; Fragments; Remnant Rubs/Gothic; Typed Tokens/Halloween; Word Bands/Incantation
  • adhesive: Glossy Accents; Collage Glue Stick
  • tools: Craft Sheet; Mini Ink Blending Tool; Paper Trimmer; Remnant Rub Tool; Sanding Grip; Scissors; Score Board; Sewing Machine


Step 1: Cut Mini Paper Stash into small pieces.  Did you know there are two sheets designed to match the sizes of the idea-ology Fragments?

Step 2: Match up the Fragments with the paper pieces you’d like to use.

Step 3: Add a small amount of Glossy Accents to the Fragments and place on to the paper pieces, swirl it around to spread the glue out, press in position and set aside to dry. Trim off excess paper.

Step 4: Alcohol Ink the edges of the lighter colored Fragment pieces with Mushroom Alcohol Ink.


Step 5: Cut Paper Stash 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” and stitch around the edge with black thread.

Step 6: Cut cardstock 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” score and fold in half to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. Sand and ink the edges with Distress Ink on a Mini Ink Blending Tool.

Step 7: Position Fragment pieces and Remnant Rubs to create collage. Move Fragments off to the side and rub on Remnant Rubs with Rub Tool.

Step 8: Color the debased areas of Type Tokens and Word Bands with Distress Crayons. Wipe off excess crayon .


Step 9: Apply Black Soot Distress Paint to Craft Sheet. Pick up paint with Distress Splatter Brush, pull back bristles and let go over cards to flick paint.

Step 10: Adhere Fragments with a small amount of Glossy Accents.

Step 11: Add Boneyard and Type Tokens with Glossy Accents.

Step 12: Adhere Wicked Adornment with Glossy Accents.
