it’s been another one of those whirlwind months around the studio with so many things going on, and the time keeps flying by.  we just returned from spring quilt market in minneapolis and had an absolutely amazing show!  i’m always in awe of the creativity the quilt industry showcases along with the sheer talent out there making so many wonderful things out of fabric.  quilt market is really something spectacular to be a part of and i think this was our best market yet so sit back and enjoy this photoblog recap of the show filled with creative inspiration…

mario, paula, and i arrived late wednesday night to be on the convention center floor early thursday morning to begin set-up of our booth.  this was the first time “eclectic elements” had our own exhibitor booth for the brand, and we were excited to create magic in our tiny space.  with the help of “super dave” we got the crates unpacked, the walls covered in vinyl using one of the new fabric designs/worn wallpaper (perfect right?), and started moving the furniture and props in…

after hours of work we were finished and really happy how much we were able to fit into our space and absolutely loved the outcome.  this market we featured the latest addition to the eclectic elements fabric line: the wallflower collection.  the mix of botanical prints collaged with vintage ephemera and typography is the perfect compliment to the existing 25 foundation fabric designs in the line.  we wanted to showcase the visual imagery of this collection and immerse you into a world of shabby vintage…

the stunning projects were displayed with found objects and vintage props throughout the booth, designed to tell the story of what makes eclectic elements all that it is…eclectic!  from aprons to totes, pillows to poufs, dresses to furniture, and home decor to quilts – the use of random bits of the fabrics inspires the creative process to make anything your imagination can dream up…

one of the favorites of the show was this display of mini clipboards we created to show off the fabric designs (we made them using idea-ology clipboard clips, hitch fasteners, and wood)…

another favorite was this vintage settee we had upholstered in one of the new wallflower fabrics/rose parcel (this was actually a goodwill find can you believe it?).  the real inspiration for the booth came from the incredible projects made by some very talented designers.  my sincere thank you and creative acknowledgement goes out to: richele christensen, amy friend, paula cheney, patricia petty, jen powers, and carol caraccia for their stunning work and attention to detail…
