Hey friends! It’s Vicki and I am here today with a little holiday décor item. I have been pulling out the decorations to spread around the house and I wanted something special for my studio. That led me to create this burlap canvas to add a little holiday magic to the place where I spend a great deal of my time!
Supplies:
- Surfaces: Burlap Canvas
- Dies: Holiday Words- Script
- Embellishments: Christmas Ephemera Pack, Holiday Flash Cards, Woodlands- Mini Wreath, Mirrored Stars, Snowflake Adornment, Christmas Tidings Tokens, Word Bands- Christmas, Mini Fasteners
- Trimmings: Linen Ribbon, Crinkle Ribbon
- Distress Ink: Vintage Photo
- Distress Spray Stains: Mowed Lawn, Fired Brick
- Distress Paint: Picket Fence
- Mediums: Glossy Accents, Texture Paste
- Tools: Craft Sheet, Ink Blending Tool, Palette Knife
- Other- Silver Glitter
Add a layer of Texture Paste to a Burlap Canvas with a palette knife.
Immediately sprinkle silver glitter on the wet Texture Paste. Allow to dry.
Mist a Mini Wreath with Mowed Lawn Distress Spray (Note: I misted a tree as well so I could have a choice…the wreath won out!). Let dry.
I didn’t want to waste the Distress Mist left on my mat, so I colored some Crinkle ribbon for use at a later date!
Mist a pieces of Crinkle Ribbon with Fired Brick Distress Spray. Gather the ribbon in a paper towel and squeeze to add “crinkles”. Let dry.
Add Mirrored Stars to the wreath with Glossy Accents.
Ink edges of Christmas Ephemera with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Add sheet music Ephemera to the front of the Burlap Canvas.
Add Picket Fence Distress Paint to the Christmas Word Band, let set up for a few seconds and rub it off. Add the Linen Ribbon to the Word Band and secure with Mini Fasteners.
Here is a closer look at the “highlighted” Word Band.
Add the “magic” Holiday Flash Card to the canvas with the Word Band and Linen Ribbon.
Adhere the Christmas Ephemera. Create the “believe” word using the Holiday Words- Script Thinlits from Sizzix. Add to the canvas. Attach a Snowflake Adornment to the canvas (the snowflake will sit in the center of the wreath).
Tie a bow using the Crinkle Ribbon and add it to the wreath.
Add the wreath and a Christmas Tidings Token with a Mini Fastener to the canvas.
The texture that the Mini Wreath adds to the canvas completely makes this one of my favorite holidy décor pieces I have made!
I love the script word!
The Texture Paste makes the canvas look “frosted” with snow and the glitter adds the perfect sparkle! Love that!
Well that’s it for me! I hope you get a chance to get crafty and make your own holiday décor canvas! Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
Vicki
