CHA2016 show recap: ranger…

1the ranger booth has always been an inspiration to the creative eye.  the mixture of colors and textures layered over what seems to be an invisible background makes the overall appearance impressive.  the new products are featured on metal panels that highlight each item and display options for retailers…

the best way to see the unique properties and palette of the various products ranger offers is on swatch boards displayed throughout the booth.  as many of you know we spend months getting these boards ready for the show and each signature designer also creates their own color swatches and samples to be featured on these boards.  this collaborative effort makes these not only pleasing to the eye, but really highlights the variety of products ranger offers…

no doubt two of my favorite boards feature the new distress crayons, collage medium, archival mixed media palette, and paper mosaic kit.  you can see just from this display the properties of the new collage mediums (matte, vintage, and crazing), the new distress archival colors (hickory smoke, vintage photo, ground espresso, black soot), the basic steps for the paper mosaic, and the most talked about – the new distress crayons (sketching, watercolor, and smudging)…

the new distress crayons were also this year’s ranger designer challenge.  we asked 19 designers from all over the creative industry from mixed media artists to card makers and scrapbookers.  they were each sent a single set of the new distress crayons, one of dina’s new media art boards, and an assortment of tags to create whatever they imagined (mine is shown below).  this year’s challenge was even more difficult since not only did each designer have to keep this new product a secret until the show, but none of them really knew what these new distress crayons were even designed to do.  well without a doubt, the projects were absolutely amazing in their creative variety and innovative ideas.  click here to visit the ranger blog to see each designer challenge with a link to the designer – thanks again to everyone who participated…

the demos are always my most favorite thing to do at the show.  having the opportunity to showcase and share about all of the great new products being released is such a blast.  the attendees have the chance to ask questions and see the products in action…

this also means there is lots of demos to capture on video to share with all of you.  thanks to everyone for taking the time to film and upload videos, here are a few videos from my friends at scraptime…

of course getting time to see these two crazies makes the show even more fun (always good for a laugh)…
