today it’s all about idea-ology and once again my team helped me pull together one of the most incredible booth displays yet.  i love hearing people comment when they’re in the booth how much they want to live in the booth surrounded by all of that vintage goodness.  for me, it’s important to evoke a feel of nostalgia in the booth since many of the products designed in idea-ology are vintage inspired treasures.  the tops of the fixtures are filled with eclectic findings of the past with the entire product line featured below – i think it tells a great story…

booth4

this year’s theme was all about correspondence to support the new paper and embellishments.  the center of the booth housed an old cart piled with shabby suitcases, old postbox doors, antique mailbags, and stacks of vintage handwritten letters.  above this hung old industrial filament cage lights intertwined through and old wire bed frame, it was a great focal point…

booth3

behind this display was another wall feature also themed to inspire correspondence, complete with a vintage postage stamp machine, mail bags, and a desk setting on a little wood and metal rolling cart.  the wall itself was covered in large graphics printed from one of the actual papers in the new collection, it’s all about the details…

booth1

the booth itself was split into two different sections, this first one showcased the new correspondence collection including the papers, and lots of amazing projects created by talented designers.  the backdrop for the projects was a cool shelving unit our neighbor art created from an old palette – so cool, and so perfect…

check out some of these great projects using lots of the new release idea-ology items including worn covers, configurations, assemblage clock, trophy cups, flip frame, and more.  check out that row of  the new mini mason jars simply filled with lots of my favorite junk…

booth2

the other side of the booth featured inspiring samples using the other existing paper collections including wallflower, french industrial, destinations, crowded attic, and lost & found.  i just love how all of these previous lines work perfectly with each other as well as the new correspondence line.  having timeless vintage designs means more creative versatility…

these projects were equally as amazing reminding me that there are always new creative ways to use products.  i know it’s exciting to add new things, but as a crafter, it’s even more exciting to learn new ways to use what you might already have right?  these projects used configurations, burlap panels, assemblage clock, and very clever ways to use the popular found relatives…

maketake

the booth was buzzing throughout the show and much of that had to do with this awesome idea-ology make & take using the new trophy cups, photobooth, typed tokens, mini star fasteners, remnant rubs, and vial labels.  thanks once again to deb for spending three full days showing people how to create this mini masterpiece.  it’s such a cute project and easy to make – i’ll be posting a tutorial for this project here on the blog in march once all of the products have shipped…

trophy

there are so many ways to alter these new little trophy cups since they are shiny silver. check out this great sample display created by paula cheney that list the basic ingredients to create a variety to antiquing options using alcohol inks and distress paint…

colors

another colorful display in the booth shows how easy it is to alter the idea-ology gumdrop, mirrored stars, and new heirloom roses or salvaged dolls with alcohol ink… (if you missed the demo video i shared last week on the blog, check it out below)

i want to give special thanks to the group of talented artists, for taking the time during their holiday season to create such wonderful projects for the show.  these projects were used in several booths at the show including idea-ology, ranger, sizzix, and stampers anonymous.  as a product designer, it is by far the most rewarding thing to see the ideas brought to life by the creative innovation of others. to see some close-up photos of projects, hop over to paula’s oneluckyday blog
