busy teaching…

simon

well it’s been a crazy couple of weekends teaching for us, so i wanted to update the blog and share a few highlights with you.  last weekend i was lucky enough to be asked to teach at the simon says stamp CREATE event.  myself along with several other talented designers taught a jam packed weekend of creativity to 100 students that included a variety of projects from cards to collage panels and a configuration book.  heidi and team simon worked tirelessly to make sure everything went perfectly (thank you so much), and the students were such fun to spend the weekend with.  thanks again to everyone who took part in the first CREATE – it was a blast…

this weekend we just wrapped up teaching at scrapper’s playground in long island – a store that has been on my teaching waiting list for seven years (blows my mind).  we landed at JFK in new york thursday and were picked up by sue (the store owner), lynnmarie and renee for a trip into the city to go and see “wicked”.  it was my 9th time, mario’s 8th time, sue and lynnmarie’s 2nd time, and renee’s first time seeing the show – needless to say we all loved it (and i can’t wait for #10)…

we then headed to long island for an early start on friday to get set up and teach the first class.  i was lucky enough to teach in the most awesome classroom space where each student had their own desk area and comfy office chair to enjoy their class – lucky students!!!

i taught 5 different groups of 28 students on friday, saturday, and sunday as 140 students took part in my collections folio workshop throughout the weekend.  they explored their creativity in new ways, and were encouraged to embrace imperfection, and best of all were excited to do so.  i can’t express how genuinely thankful i am, and how wonderful all of the students were by allowing themselves to let their creative expectations go and simply enjoy the journey…
