back from the uk…

well we just landed back in the US from our flight from london that left early this morning.  we are sitting in the airport in charlotte waiting for our connecting flight to take us home to arizona.  so i thought it was the perfect time to blog and say thank you to everyone of my students in the uk who came out to share the fun event this week…

on monday morning we arrived in the uk to sunshine and blue skies which was a wonderful change from our previous visits there (of course we are usually there in february).  we met alain from ranger at the heathrow airport and hit the road for our drive up to coventry with a quick stop to load up on some uk snacks and chocolates.  the next morning we met our uk distributors jayne and kathy from personal impressions along with our friends kaz, dyan, and ben who were there to help us with the event (thanks to all of them once again).  we got the box unpacked, supplies set up, and the room ready to go for 2 days of creative education….

on wednesday it was a full day of retailer education with 60 shop owners, designers, and demonstrators there for 5 hours of ranger technique education.  the day was filled with tutorials on many of rangers products and hands-on education for the students.  we created 15 technique tags with instruction labels to give them ideas on planning future workshops and demonstrations in their shops.  thanks to all of the retailers for spending their day learning and sharing the inspiration – it was really a great day…

on thursday we had the room completely reset for 2 back to back workshops of “journeys of the past”.  no doubt we had some very excited students (and a very excited teacher) where we had 3 1/2 hours of creative distress bliss.  techniques using distress inks, stains, markers and more were all part of the fun in the making of this tag book filled with stenciled backgrounds and idea-ology goodness.  thanks to all of the students who came out to join such a wonderful creative event.  i loved it and definitely looking forward to do it again…
