a proud day…

hi bloggers… we just returned from a trip to south carolina to attend mario’s son – mario III (mj3) graduation from boot camp.  We traveled to fort jackson military base where we met up with his wife sara, his twin brother joe, his mom and auntie for family day where we were all anxious to see (mj3) especially sara.  it was an awesome day as (mj3) gave us a tour of the base where he spent the last 12 weeks learning all of the basic skills and training to become a soldier for the united states.  we got to see his barracks, many of their training sites, and met his drill sergeants: PSG Hawkins, DS Miller, and DS Camacho who were great…

we also got to meet “zimmer” who became best friends with mario throughout boot camp and shared this challenging life experience together – what a journey

in addition we met zimmer’s wife mandy, mom mary and enjoyed spending our entire time there together, all ten of us.  the following day was the graduation ceremony to celebrate the hundreds of soldiers who successfully completed this proud accomplishment to protect and serve in the united stated military.  it was an emotional moment in the lives of all who were there, and we are so very proud of the men and women who choose to serve our country.  this was a monumental day as they graduated basic training and began their next step in fulfilling their commitments and goals to achieve their dreams…

the following day mario headed to virginia to spend his next sixteen weeks at fort eustis as he continues his journey.  he will be in AIT training to become a 15T blackhawk mechanic with hopes of becoming a blackhawk pilot.  please join us in congratulating Private First Class Rossi, and all of the soldiers who proudly serve as we wish them all continued success and safety…t!m
