a little getaway…

hey there bloggers!  well we have just returned from a getaway this past week up along the east coast of new england and into canada.  i guess our timing was very lucky considering the horrible storm hitting the east coast right now – please know we sincerely hope everyone there stays safe.  we planned this cruise much earlier in the year to take a little break, and of course see the fall scenery and visit some of our favorite ports along the east coast.  this was the same itinerary as the scrapmap cruise i taught on back in 2010 only this time we got to go to simply relax (of course there was a little work as i managed to blog the winners from one of the ports on friday, but for the most part it was very relaxing).  so here are some of the highlights of our journey i wanted to share with you.  happy to be back in the studio and inspired to get creative for the seasons – enjoy…t!m

boston, mass.: what can i say about boston.  love the history, the buildings, the shopping, and of course the food.  i think we simply ate and drank our way through boston.  from the ice cold sam adams to the pizza, and even a stop at the famous mike’s pastry for a cannoli, every bite was totally worth it…

nova scotia: it was great stopping in canada and even better that it was nova scotia where we met up with our friend heather who lives there.  we spent the day seeing the sights, shopping, and of course having a few laughs, our favorite day of the trip for sure…

bar harbor, maine: this was such a cool little town filled with shops and plenty of restaurants.  so that meant not only enjoying the blue skies and sunshine, but definitely enjoying a great maine lobster lunch…

portland, maine: a charming waterfront makes this town such fun to walk around, and what better to find then a starbucks!  we spent the day shopping and even a little antiquing before heading out on our afternoon excursion…

kennebunkport, manie: we decided to book an afternoon excursion while we were in portland for a bus tour to the town of kennebunkport.  this was quite the adventure considering our tour bus took a slight detour and tried to drive across the beach (yep, seriously…).  of course we got stuck there and ended up sitting on the beach waiting for another bus to take us into the town to do some shopping.  luckily all worked out just fine, we made it to town and back to the ship on time.  always an adventure…

the colors: the amazing fall palette of colors is something that you can only get here on the east coast.  trust me, arizona doesn’t have anything like this.  the golds, ambers, yellows, vivid reds, all blending with the changing shades of green was something we never got tired of seeing – amazing….
